Terms of service: Digital cinema package
Effective as of April 14, 2026
This Terms of Service Agreement ("Agreement") is a binding legal contract between Visual Narrative Films ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") and the person or entity agreeing to these terms ("User," "you," or "your"). By submitting an order or using the DCP Conversion Service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by this Agreement.
1. Service Description
1.1 What We Provide: A Digital Cinema Package (DCP) conversion service that converts your video files into industry-standard DCP format for theatrical and festival screenings.
1.2 Supported Formats The Service accepts files in specific format only. Files submitted in unsupported formats will not be processed and are subject to the refund policy in Section 4.
1.3 Duration Limits Films exceeding 240 minutes are not supported. Please contact our technical partner Eagle Studio dcp-support@eaglestudio.art for a custom quote.
2. User Content and Responsibility
2.1 Ownership You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to any media files you submit through the Service ("User Content").
2.2 Responsibility You are solely responsible for ensuring:
You own or have full rights to the content you upload.
Your file is in a supported format as mentioned on the upload page.
Your content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights or contain unlawful material.
We reserve the right to refuse conversion of any content that violates the above or our general policies.
2.3 Data Backup You are responsible for retaining your own copies of all submitted files. We are not liable for loss of source files.
3. Fees and Payment
3.1 Pricing Conversion fees are based on the duration of your film, starting at $75. Films up to one minute are priced at $75, with an additional $10 per minute for each extra minute thereafter.
3.2 Payment Processing All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By submitting payment, you authorize our partner company Eagle Studio to charge the applicable fee to your selected payment method.
3.3 Upgrades If the duration of your uploaded film exceeds the minutes purchased, conversion will be paused until the additional minutes are paid for. Any upgrade charges will be calculated based on the difference between the purchased duration and the actual runtime of your film.
3.4 No Auto-Renewal The DCP Conversion Service is transactional. Each order is a one-time purchase with no automated recurring charges.
4. Refund Policy
4.1 Eligible Refunds Refunds are available under the following conditions:
Your film exceeds 240 minutes, please contact dcp-support@eaglestudio.art for a custom quote or refund.
A technical error on Eagle Studio's part that prevents delivery of your DCP.
4.2 Non-Refundable Refunds are not available once a DCP has been successfully processed. Upgrade payments are non-refundable once conversion has commenced.
4.3 How to Request To request a refund, contact dcp-support@eaglestudio.art with your order details. Refunds are subject to verification.
5. Delivery and Downloads
5.1 Secure Download Link Completed DCPs are made available for download via a secure link. Each order includes a maximum of 2 downloads.
5.2 User Responsibility You are responsible for saving your DCP securely upon download. Once your download allowance is used or the link expires, re-download is not guaranteed. If a download fails due to a technical issue on your end, arrangements can be made to make the download available again — please reach out to dcp-support@eaglestudio.art
5.3 Output File Retention Output files are retained for 90 days from the date of completion, after which they are permanently and irreversibly deleted. We are not liable for any loss of data after this retention period. We strongly recommend you retain your own copy immediately upon download.
5.4 Processing Time Conversion is processed in the order received. While we aim to deliver within 24–48 hours of upload, processing times may vary based on demand and file size. We do not guarantee specific turnaround times under the standard plan.
5.5 Expedited Processing Expedited processing is available for an additional fee, with guaranteed delivery within the timeframes below. This guarantee applies only after your files have been successfully uploaded.
Films less than or equal to 40 minutes in duration: within 8 hours for $50
Films more than 40 minutes: within 24 hours for $100
To request expedited processing, select the option at checkout or contact dcp-support@eaglestudio.art before submitting your order.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Company Rights Our technical partner company Eagle Studio owns all rights to the software, tools, and processes used to perform DCP conversion. No ownership of these systems is transferred to the User under this Agreement.
6.2 User Content We do not claim any ownership over your submitted media or the DCP output files generated from it.
6.3 Feedback If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Service, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual license to use such feedback to improve its services.
7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
7.1 "As-Is" Service The Service is provided "AS IS." We do not warrant that conversions will be error-free or compatible with all theatrical systems.
7.2 Limitation of Liability Our liability in connection with the DCP Conversion Service is limited to the amount paid for the specific order in question. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eagle Studio is not liable for loss of revenue or commercial opportunity, festival submission deadlines missed due to delays or errors in conversion, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
8. Termination
8.1 By User You may cancel an order prior to conversion commencing by contacting dcp-support@eaglestudio.art. Cancellations after conversion has commenced are subject to the refund policy in Section 4.
8.2 By Company We may refuse or cancel an order at any time if you breach these terms or submit content that violates Section 2.2. In such cases, a refund will be issued at our discretion.
9. Privacy Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We processes your submitted files solely for the purpose of DCP conversion and do not retain or exploit your media beyond the 90-day retention period described in Section 5.3.
10. Governing Law This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California, United States.
11. Changes to Terms We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or posted on our website. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance.
MODIFICATION OF TERMS OF USE
We can amend these Terms of Use at any time and will update these Terms of Use in the event of any such amendments. It is your sole responsibility to check the Site from time to time to view any such changes in this agreement. Your continued use of the Site or the Service signifies your agreement to our revisions to these Terms of Use. We will endeavor to notify you of material changes to the Terms by posting a notice on our homepage and/or sending an email to the email address you provided to us upon registration. For this additional reason, you should keep your contact and profile information current. Any changes to these Terms (other than as set forth in this paragraph) or waiver of our rights hereunder shall not be valid or effective except in a written agreement bearing the physical signature of one of our officers. No purported waiver or modification of this agreement on our part via telephonic or email communications shall be valid.
GENERAL TERMS
If any part of this Terms of Use agreement is held or found to be invalid or unenforceable, that portion of the agreement will be construed as to be consistent with applicable law while the remaining portions of the agreement will remain in full force and effect. Any failure on our part to enforce any provision of this agreement will not be considered a waiver of our right to enforce such provision. Our rights under this agreement survive any transfer or termination of this agreement.
You agree that any cause of action related to or arising out of your relationship with the Company must commence within ONE year after the cause of action accrues. Otherwise, such cause of action is permanently barred.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Site are governed by the federal laws of the United States of America and the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
We may assign or delegate these Terms of Service and/or our Privacy Policy, in whole or in part, to any person or entity at any time with or without your consent. You may not assign or delegate any rights or obligations under the Terms of Service or Privacy Policy without our prior written consent, and any unauthorized assignment or delegation by you is void.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS OF USE, UNDERSTAND THE TERMS OF USE, AND WILL BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THESE TERMS OF USE REPRESENT THE COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE STATEMENT OF THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN US AND THAT IT SUPERSEDES ANY PROPOSAL OR PRIOR AGREEMENT ORAL OR WRITTEN, AND ANY OTHER COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN US RELATING TO THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS AGREEMENT.
